Bio

Dr. Robinson is a senior surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital (BWFH).  He serves as the Associate Chairman of the Department of Surgery with oversight of the Department’s operational processes. He also is Director of BWH’s Nutrition Support Service.

Dr. Robinson received his college degree from Harvard University and medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his surgical residency and advanced fellowships in nutrition and general surgery at BWH. He is board certified in surgery and nutrition support and is a member of the faculty at Harvard Medical School where he is an associate professor of surgery.

The author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, abstracts and editor of a textbook, Dr. Robinson’s clinical interests include bariatric (i.e., weight loss) surgery, nutrition support of patients with complex nutrition issues, and general and laparoscopic surgery. His research focuses on nutrition, metabolism and how to optimize weight loss surgery.

Dr. Robinson serves as an Associate Editor of Obesity Surgery (a premier clinical and research bariatric surgery journal), and is a national site reviewer of bariatric surgery centers seeking accreditation as a center of excellence by the American College of Surgeons. He has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on the topics of bariatric surgery and nutrition support.
