Dr. James Michael Kirshenbaum is the clinical director of Cardiovascular Medicine Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). A cardiovascular medicine specialist, he is also an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS).

He received his medical degree from HMS. He completed a residency in internal medicine, a fellowship in cardiology at BWH and a fellowship in percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty at BWH. Dr. Kirshenbaum is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Kirshenbaum’s clinical interests include cardiovascular disease and coronary angioplasty. His research focuses on the pathophysiology and management of acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and received research funding from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Dr. Kirshenbaum has been listed as one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly and named a top cardiologist by Boston Magazine.
