Dr. Erin A. Bohula May is a cardiovascular medicine and critical care specialist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). In addition, she is an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS). She is also a staff investigator for the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group at BWH that studies patients across the spectrum of acute coronary conditions.
Dr. Bohula May earned her medical degree from HMS. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at BWH. Dr. Bohula is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and critical care medicine. She was both a Rhodes Scholar and Phi Beta Kappa at HMS.
Dr. Bohula May’s clinical interests include cardiovascular critical care shock, acute coronary syndrome, stroke and metabolic cardiovascular risk factors such as dyslipidemia, diabetes and obesity. The author of 13 peer-reviewed publications, her research focuses critical care cardiology, ischemic heart disease and a randomized control trial of a weight loss agent, to assess long-term cardiovascular safety and efficacy in obese or overweight patients at high-risk for cardiovascular events.
