Dr. Peruzzi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery. He holds an appointment as an attending clinical neurosurgeon, as well as a principal investigator in the neuro-oncology research laboratories at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr Peruzzi works together with a dedicated support team to provide the best, most timely and compassionate care to patients suffering from neurological disorders, particularly malignant brain tumors.
Dr. Peruzzi leads a molecular biology laboratory focused in basic research to find a cure to malignant brain tumors, and is also involved in multiple clinical trials for the treatment of brain tumors at the BWH, including oncolytic virotherapy and the use of novel microdevices to guide personalized chemotherapy to patients with brain cancers.
Dr Peruzzi has been continuously supported by NIH funding for his laboratory research since he joined the staff at the Brigham. He has received the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation fellowship by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, as well as the prestigious American Academy of Neurological Surgery Award.
