Dr. Kerman is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Health Information Technology, and previously in Emergency Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters Degree in Health Information Technology at Northeastern University. Dr Kerman practiced Emergency Medicine for 20 years and was the Director of the Carney Hospital Emergency Department. In 2009, he became a Hospital Medicine specialist and served as the Associate Director of the Hospital Medicine Program at South Shore Hospital, before joining the hospital group at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Kerman became a Primary Care Physician in 2017 , became interested in Genomics and now serves as consultant for the Genetics electronic consult service, sees patients in the Brigham Preventive Genetics Clinic and Pharmacogenomics Clinic, and has obtained NIH grant funding to study Polygenic Risk Scoring in common diseases. His overarching goal is to use information technology and genomic knowledge to personalize care to individual patient needs and optimize all of his patients health.
