Julia Loewenthal, MD is a geriatrician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Prior to training in the Harvard Multi-Campus Geriatrics Fellowship, she graduated from University of Virginia and completed residency in Internal Medicine/Primary Care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Clinically, Dr. Loewenthal leads geriatric co-management programs at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and precepts Internal Medicine residents and Geriatric Medicine fellows.
Dr. Loewenthal was the awardee of the 2020-2022 BWH Department of Medicine Clinical Education Research Scholars grant for her work in developing an age friendly Internal Medicine residency program. In 2021 Dr. Loewenthal was selected for the Harvard Macy Program for Educators in the Health Professions course and the AGS/ADGAP Tideswell Emerging Leaders in Aging program.
She has a strong interest in healthy aging, creating a geriatric integrative medicine program at the BWH Osher Center for Integrative Medicine. Scholarly interests include medical education, healthy aging, yoga, and physician well-being.
