Bio

Dr. Taylor earned an MD and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he trained with brain stimulation pioneer Mark George, MD. After dual degree training, Dr. Taylor completed psychiatry residency as a member of the Neuroscience Research Training Program at Yale University School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Hospital. He served in several leadership positions at Yale, including Program-Wide Chief Resident and Chief Resident of the Yale Interventional Psychiatry Service. After graduation, Dr. Taylor became the Sidney R. Baer, Jr. Clinical Neuroscience Fellow in the Berenson-Allen Center for Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical School. 

In August 2020, Dr. Taylor was recruited to serve as Clinical Director of TMS in the newly launched Center for Brain Circuit Therapeutics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is also appointed as an Associate Psychiatrist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and as an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. As of 2021, Dr. Taylor has received over 35 awards and honors, and he has authored over 60 published works (scientific abstracts, book chapters, and peer-reviewed journal articles). He also serves on several national and international brain stimulation committees, including the Clinical Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Society Research Committee, the Clinical TMS Society Clinical Standards Committee, and the National Network of Depression Centers Neuromodulation Task Force.
