Bio

Dr. Mehta is the medical director for the Burn Center in the Division of Trauma, Burn and Surgical Critical Care and Emergency General Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Mehta leads a team of burn specialists providing expert, multidisciplinary care to hundreds of burn patients each year.

Prior to joining the Brigham, Dr. Mehta was a burn surgeon and the director of faculty development at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College and her medical degree from the University of Vermont. Dr. Mehta completed her general surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center and a burns and critical care fellowship at the University of Southern California.

Her clinical interests focus in burn and burn ICU care and surgical outcomes. She is also heavily involved with faculty development and resident wellness, having developed curriculums for faculty development and focused mentorship programs throughout her career.
