Dr. Bernardini is an attending neonatologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital with interests in critical care, quality improvement, and teaching. She recently completed her fellowship training at Boston Children’s Hospital where she developed and led the Fellow Simulation Curriculum. Her fellowship quality improvement project focused on premedication for nonemergent neonatal intubation and inspired the creation and implementation of a clinical practice guideline on the same topic. Her primary clinical interest is care of the extremely low birth weight infant (ELBW); she is currently working on an ELBW quality improvement project with the goal to advance the care of our smallest patients. Additionally, she is an Instructor in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School where she teaches residents and fellows ELBW physiology and principles of management.
