Dr. Changizi has a degree in mathematics from University of Virginia, and a BS in neurobiology from University of Maryland College Park. She attended Duke University School of Medicine, and then completed her residency in neurology at University of California Los Angeles. After finishing a movement disorders fellowship at Albany Medical College, she joined the faculty as Assistant Professor of Neurology and led the deep brain stimulation (DBS) program there. She went on to become Co-Director for the Center for Neuromodulation at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She was then recruited to join the faculty as Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University, where she was Fellowship Director. Dr. Changizi has expertise in movement disorders, deep brain stimulation programming, and botulinum toxin injections for neck tremor and cervical dystonia. She is an expert in Parkinson disease, parkinsonian disorders such as multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, Tourette syndrome, tics, myoclonus, essential tremor, and dystonia. She also assists with the genetics and spinocerebellar ataxia clinic at BWH.
