Ellen J. Bubrick, MD, graduated from Brandeis University and the University of Minnesota Medical School prior to completing the Partners Neurology Residency Program and BWH Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy Fellowship. Dr. Bubrick's areas of clinical expertise include new onset seizures, epilepsy monitoring, surgical treatment of epilepsy and sleep. Her research interests involve emergency EEG techniques, epilepsy and memory, imaging in epilepsy, and non-pharmacologic treatments for drug resistant epilepsy. She has pioneered a new potential treatment for epilepsy using low intensity focused ultrasound (LIFUS) and has received funding for this. She is also the Director of Epilepsy Surgery, and serves as the Chair of the hospital Quality Assurance Committee at BWH. She has been an advisor to many Harvard medical students.
