Victor Nauffal, MD, MSc, serves as the Director of the Inherited Arrhythmia Clinic and is a Staff Cardiac Electrophysiologist within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Nauffal's clinical expertise encompasses all clinical arrhythmias and includes advanced procedural skills in complex catheter ablation for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, ablation of premature ventricular contractions, management of the left atrial appendage, and the implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators. He is dedicated to delivering exemplary patient care by leveraging state-of-the-art technology and research to optimize treatment outcomes.
A particular area of passion for Dr. Nauffal is cardiovascular genetics and inherited arrhythmias. His research is focused on unraveling the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac fibrosis using genetic studies, with the goal of improving early diagnosis, risk stratification, and personalized treatment approaches. He earned a Master of Science in Statistical Genetics and Genetic Epidemiology from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and is an Affiliate Scientist within the Cardiovascular Disease Initiative at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Dr. Nauffal has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals such as Nature Medicine, Nature Genetics, Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and the European Heart Journal.
At the Inherited Arrhythmia Clinic, Dr. Nauffal specializes in managing patients with inherited arrhythmia syndromes and collaborates closely with genetic counselors to merge clinical insights with genetic findings, thereby enriching the understanding and management of these complex disorders.
