Dr. Melanie Maytin is a cardiovascular medicine specialist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). In addition, she is an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School.
She received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and electrophysiology at Boston Medical Center. She then completed an additional cardiology fellowship at BWH. Dr. Maytin is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Maytin’s clinical and research interests include implantable cardioverter defibrillator lead management and transvenous lead extraction, specifically device-related infections, risk factors and complications. She also evaluates virtual reality tools and methods for training new physicians.
