Dr. Elizabeth Petri Henske, MD, is the Director of the Center for LAM Research and Clinical Care and a physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She is also Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Associate Member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. 

She received her undergraduate degree from Yale, majoring in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, and her medical degree from Harvard. She then completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology-oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by a second fellowship in cancer genetics research at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, and sees patients at both the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. 

Dr. Henske’s clinical interests include lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome (BHD), angiomyolipoma, oncocytoma, and renal cell carcinoma. She receives funding for her research from the National Institutes of Health, along with other federal agencies and foundations. She is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Assocation of American Physicians. She has received awards for her research from The LAM Foundation, the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, the Society for Women’s Health Research, and the American Thoracic Society.
